What you should know about our contractors |
BasementDepot strives to provide the consumer with reputable waterproofing, structural repair, radon, basement remodeling, and other contractors. To accomplish this goal, we have strict guidelines that all contractors must follow to be listed, and maintain their listing, at BasementDepot. At anytime one of our contractors falls short of their obligations, they are immediately suspended either temporarily (until the problem is fixed) or permanently. This insures that only the highest caliber contractor will be listed at BasementDepot. We try to offer you "peace of mind" in knowing that you are dealing with a reputable and reliable contractor when you hire a BasementDepot-accredited contractor.
Although BasementDepot does not endorse any individual or listed contractor, all contractors listed on BasementDepot must meet the following requirements to become accredited:
- Company must be in business for at least one (1) year.
- Company must be licensed in the state(s) it does business in, if so required by the State(s).
- Company must agree and adhere to the NAWSRC Ethics and Industry Standards.
- Company must be properly insured - Liability, Auto, Worker's Compensation, if you have employees, and provide Basement Depot with a Certificate of Insurance within 15-days of signing up to be an accredited contractor. [HELP]
- Agree to answer any consumer complaints within 48 hours and report your answer to Basement Depot in writing (or by e-mail) within 10 business days. Failure to address any complaint within this time frame will result in automatic suspension.
- Agree to pay BasementDepot the total amount to cover a consumer's claim of any Buyer Protection Plan purchased by the consumer, after a complaint has been filed, an investigation by BasementDepot determines that it is the contractors responsibility to take care of the customer, the contractor is unable to resolve the matter, the consumer hires another contractor to correct the problem, and a claim is made under the BasementDepot Buyer Protection Plan. This insures that the contractor himself pays for their mistakes.
- Agree that the contractors listing on BasementDepot may be suspended temporarily or permanently for justifiable cause, including but not limited to any violation of the guidelines set forth by BasementDepot.
By adherence to these strict guidelines, consumers are guaranteed that all BasementDepot accredited contractors are ethical and reliable.
If you have a complaint to make against a BasementDepot listed contractor or you feel they have violated any of their requirements as defined above, please file a report here: VIOLATIONS.
