Basement Rookie Here!
I was hoping someone can help me out! I am looking to build a room (reading room) in my Portland Oregon home, and worried about damp / water proofing the walls and slab. Is there a product that I can use to help out with moisture. I have no real problems of the basement being damp or wet at this time. I just don't want to build a room and see problems in the future. Would a negative-side / waterproofing componud work, or do I even need to worry
about damp proofing at all? Any help from you would be great,

:( Thanks BRH

I certainly would recommend that you at least seal the walls with a sealer. You may also need to seal the floor as well. By sealing the walls and floor it will protect you from vapor transmission and minor water penetration thru the concrete walls and floor.

I would recommend that you check out our basementdepot.com shopping mall as there is a great two part epoxy called HydroSeal available in white (for walls) and/ or gray for the floor. Hope this helps. :)
